GEOPHAGY
Dirt eating has been found as a normal trait in many cultures around the world, though it is particularly well known in the rural Southern United States, and in Africa. When the same practice is not a cultural one, but rather the result of individual aberrant behavior, it is often referred to as 'soil pica'.
