THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN
I know I'm in the minority today when I say that I consider Mann's visionary novel, set in a Swiss tuberculosis sanitarium , the greatest literary work of the 20th century, and one of the most profound of all time. But I do. This essay is very well done, though it really only taps into one aspect of this monumental masterpiece..
