THE BLUES, BABY!
Of course, this is a huge subject, one I shall explore more later. For today, I want to post a few links on some of the earliest seminal figures, from the Mississippi Delta
Robert Johnson is perhaps the most legendary figure. In his short life, he penned many superb lyrics and created a personal style of guitar playing which many seek to emulate even today. Here are some more sites devoted to him: 1 ; 2; and, his famous song "Crossroads" has been rumoured to be cursed...
Blind Lemon Jefferson was another great, you can hear a clip at this site
Charley Patton is a third giant; Robert Crumb, who illustrated that comic bio, has also drawn many other bluesmen..
OK, PHILOSOPHY THEN...
Pragmatism - a site devoted to William James and many other exponants of this school, including present day figures
The webmaster (I think, anyway)has an interesting list of 50 greatest philosophers...
Postmodern Authors (is it 'philosophy' or 'literature'?)

Institute for Christian Research - though many will laugh at even the premises of this site, there is much food for thought, particularly in how the contemporary scientific establishment still marginalizes and in effect "burns" anyone who doesn't accept their theoretical underpinnings..

The water was not fit to drink. To make it palatable, we had to add whiskey. By diligent effort, I learned to like it.
